Documentation of Adéla Vávrová’s graduation performance.
Premiere: April 10, 2026, Divadlo Na zábradlí.
The performance NORA focuses on loneliness as a state that precludes both peace and sleep. Sleepless nights reveal Nora’s need for closeness and connection, as well as her longing for any form of interaction. Through clowning principles, playfulness, and absurdity, the piece gradually lays bare her inner emptiness and cruelty, alongside her attempt to forge a genuine relationship. Loneliness becomes both a physical and existential space — a realm where fatigue, boredom, and cruelty mingle with the character’s own fragility. The performance explores why Nora cannot sleep, the forms her loneliness takes, and what lies beneath her restlessness.
